Frequently Asked Questions
What is Box Tops for Education®?
Box Tops for Education is a nationwide fundraising program for K-8 schools that
encourages students to collect box tops off a variety of packaged goods from breakfast
cereals to office supplies. Box Top coordinators at each of the 69,000 participating
schools send in the box tops and receive money for their schools. Established in
1996, the Box Tops for Education program has helped schools earn more than $200
million.
Why are Box Tops important to schools?
Box Tops help schools, especially in these times of tighter budgets and stretched
resources, earn money for valuable school programs, equipment, etc. Many schools
count on this incremental income to buy computer equipment, playground equipment,
or provide other important aspect to student education.
What is Hanes4Education?
Hanes Imagewear is partnering with Box Tops for Education so that schools can earn
money each time they order Hanes® products for their decorated apparel needs.
The more Hanes® T-shirts, sportshirts and sweatshirts schools order, the more
Box Tops they earn. And those Box Tops pay off in money for the school. So, be a
hero and recommend Hanes!
Why should I want to be part of this program? What’s in it for me?
It’s a win-win for you and your neighbors. What a great way to be a hero in your
community, and help your local schools earn money for things like books, computers,
and playground equipment.
How does Hanes4Education work?
The Hanes4Education program is simple – when customers order T-shirts or other Hanes®
products, they will receive the equivalent of one Box Top for each item purchased.
The items purchased simply need to be Hanes® products. All they need from you,
their decorated apparel supplier, is an invoice that indicates that they have purchased
Hanes and the total number of Hanes® products purchased.
(Please note that packing slips, order tracking forms or work orders do not serve
as invoices. Customers will need to submit an invoice or copy of an invoice along
with their Redemption Form.)
From there, customers complete the Redemption Form available online at www.Hanes4Education.com/redemption_form.pdf , and submit
along with a copy of their invoice to the address noted on the form. They can also
submit via email at redemption@hanes4education.com
. It will take 4 to 6 weeks to receive their Box Tops for Education Certificates
equal to the number of Hanes® T-shirts, polo shirts and sweatshirts purchased.
For example, if they order 365 T-shirts for an upcoming fun run, they will receive
Box Tops for Education Certificates equal to 365 Box Tops.
Any order over 2,000 shirts will be subject to review for eligibility.
What do I have to do to participate in the Hanes4Education / Box Tops program?
The next time you receive an order for school T-shirts or other apparel, let your
customers know that they can earn valuable Box Tops just by purchasing Hanes®
apparel. What a great way to be a hero in your community, and help your local schools
earn money for things like books, computers, and playground equipment.
The Hanes4Education program is simple and easy. There is absolutely no additional
work for you. The only thing we ask from you is to specify Hanes on the invoice
that your customers receive from their order. Schools can go to our new Web site,
www.Hanes4Education.com ,
for additional details.
What types of Hanes® products qualify for Box Tops?
The Hanes4Education program is specifically designed for school orders of T-shirts,
sportshirts and fleece for school events, school uniforms and Spiritwear purchased
through decorated apparel suppliers. Individually purchased Hanes® products
such as underwear, socks and T-shirts do NOT qualify.
All Hanes® products found in www.haneslocator.com/Catalog/CatalogOverview.aspx qualify.
You can direct customers to a customer-friendly version of the catalog (with the
same list of products) at
www.Hanes4Education.com/products.aspx/stylesandcolors .
Is there any minimum order?
If schools are ordering 20 Hanes® T-shirts or 2,000 Hanes® T-shirts, the
process is the same and there is no minimum order as long as the apparel is being
used for schools, school-related activities, community-based/family-based youth
activities and education-related uses. Individually sold Hanes® products such
as underwear, T-shirts and socks DO NOT qualify.
If a customer has any questions at all about the program details, who can they
ask?
Customers can go to www.Hanes4Education.com
, send email questions to info@Hanes4Education.com
, or call Customer Service at 1-877-391-5272 Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday
& Sunday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST.
Do T-shirts orders outside of school events apply to this program (sports teams,
community events, church activities)?
Yes! Anytime school volunteers are ordering Hanes® T-shirts or other apparel
such as sports shirts and sweatshirts for as long as the apparel is being used for
schools, school-related activities, community-based/family-based youth activities
and education-related uses, they can submit that order and redemption form and earn
Box Tops for their school; the same guidelines apply.
What happens if a school is found to turn in a fraudulent claim to Box Tops
for Education?
In accordance with Box Tops for Education rules, any school or coordinator promoting
the sale of, or knowingly submitting fraudulent Box Tops coupons will be subject
to expulsion from the Box Tops program. Any order over 2,000
shirts will subject to review for eligibility.
